Fraxel™ Laser Treatment

Skin resurfacing with minimal downtime.

Fraxel™ can help to restore some of your skin’s original radiance. Over the years the damage caused by the sun, stress and time can leave your skin in need of rejuvenation. The Fraxel treatment offers an advanced micro-laser restoration treatment that uses the skin’s own responses to revitalize itself and stimulate the production of collagen. Fraxel treatments are non-ablative, therefore downtime is minimal.

What does it treat?

Fraxel™ is the treatment of choice to help;
• minimize fine lines, particularly around the eyes
• improve the skin’s texture and tone
• reduce acne scars
• clear pigmentation: age spots and sun damage, and Melasma.

How does Fraxel work?

Fraxel™ is a non-ablative laser and therefore has minimal downtime. Without breaking the surface of the skin’s protective barrier the Fraxel™ laser penetrates to the dermis with thousands of microscopic thermal columns. These channels only affect a small portion of the skin leaving the surrounding tissue intact. This “fractional” treatment is what causes the unaffected areas to trigger the rapid healing response stimulating the production of collagen and new skin cells, helping improve the skin’s texture.

How many treatments are involved?

Each individual is different; however, clinical studies suggest that on average, 3-5 Fraxel treatments, spaced at 2-4 weeks apart is an effective treatment regime. Depending on your skin’s condition and your personal time constraints the treatments can be spaced to suit your lifestyle and needs. Results are immediate and progressive, with optimal improvement usually visible in 2-3 months, the time it takes for the complete healing and production of new collagen and elastin.

What can I expect during a Fraxel treatment?

Fraxel™ treatments take approximately 30 minutes. The level is discomfort varies from individual to individual. One hour prior to the procedure a local anesthetic is applied to the area and during treatment a chilled air cooler is used to reduce discomfort. The sensation experienced can best be described an increased sensation of heat. Immediately following the procedure the area is treated with cold compresses.

Is Fraxel™ complimentary to other treatments?

Your Fraxel™ can be enhanced following treatment with a good skin regime. It also combines beautifully with other treatments such as Thermage. Cost effective packages are available to optimize the results you are after.
