What type of peel is suitable for my skin?
This is determined by your dermal therapist in consultation with you. Your skin is assessed and your concerns are listened to. Your dermal therapist will then suggest the most appropriate peel for you and whether you would benefit from a course of peels or if you just want to refresh your skin as you have no obvious problems to correct suggest a suitable stand alone peel.
How does a medical peel feel?
This depends on the peel that is right for you and your concerns. Feelings vary from very little sensation or light tingly, or in the case of level 2 peel, a more intense stinging sensation. The level of discomfort varies from patient to patient and peel to peel.
How will my skin look after?
Downtime depends on the peel you have. Your skin can look normal and fresh to pink and tight. The amount and type of peeling you will see varies from very little light flaking, to a more dramatic peeling.
Most patient return to their normal activities immediately after and do not retire from day to day activities.
How many peels will I need?
Peels can be a standalone treatment that improves the skin, however, in order to correct or greatly improve the skin a course is suggested. Peels also compliment other treatments as either a preparation for another treatment such as Fraxel or you can enhance the effects of a peel by combining your peel with an Omnilux treatment. Together with your therapist a plan can be discussed to suit your concerns and budget. Packages are available for a course of peels.
