Rejuran

Introducing Rejuran: The revolutionary new skin treatment

At Skin Renu in Balmain, we offer Rejuran treatment — a skin rejuvenation therapy designed to support the skin’s natural regeneration process. This treatment aims to improve the skin’s texture, hydration and elasticity through a series of procedures.

What is Rejuran treatment?

Rejuran treatment is a skin therapy that uses polynucleotides (PN) from salmon DNA to support the skin’s natural repair and renewal processes. It involves carefully delivering PN to the skin, which may help improve fine lines, smooth texture and address dryness.

Potential benefits of Rejuran

Rejuran treatment aims to:

  • Enhance skin elasticity
  • Promote a more even skin tone and texture
  • Improve collagen production

Please note that results will vary based on factors such as skin type, age and the body’s natural response to the treatment.

What to expect before, during and after Rejuran treatment

Before undergoing Rejuran treatment, an in-depth consultation with one of our qualified medical practitioners is required. This consultation includes a comprehensive facial assessment, a review of your medical history and a discussion of your skin concerns to determine your eligibility for the treatment. We reserve the right to decline treatment if it is deemed unsuitable for your needs or medical safety.

During the procedure, the treatment is administered in a clinical setting by our qualified practitioners. Following the treatment, patients will receive detailed post-treatment instructions to support optimal recovery and results.

For at least 4 hours after your treatment, avoid lying down or touching the treated areas to reduce irritation or movement of the product. Skip makeup during this time — waiting until the next day is even better to minimise the risk of infection. For the next 48 hours, stay away from hot showers, saunas and steam rooms, as heat can make swelling worse. It’s also best to avoid intense exercise, alcohol and air travel for two days to keep bruising and discomfort to a minimum.

Potential risks and side effects of Rejuran

You might see some redness, bruising or swelling around the treatment areas, which should settle within about a week. A bit of tenderness or even a mild headache can happen in the first couple of days, but over-the-counter pain relief like paracetamol can help. Occasionally, small lumps may appear, but these typically smooth out on their own over a few weeks. If anything feels unusual or doesn’t improve, such as worsening redness or pain, reach out to our clinic for advice.

Less commonly, there’s a risk of infection at the treatment sites, which may present as redness, warmth or increased pain. Allergic reactions are rare but possible and may cause symptoms such as itching or swelling. In very rare cases, improper injection techniques can lead to vascular occlusion, which requires immediate medical attention.

Should you experience any complicated side effects, please contact us or your healthcare provider right away.

How does Rejuran treatment work?

Originating from South Korea, Rejuran treatment involves the use of polynucleotide (PN) molecules derived from salmon DNA. These molecules are biocompatible and support natural skin repair processes. Rejuran aims to promote collagen production and enhance skin barrier function.

What are the potential side effects of Rejuran treatment?

Side effects can include small bumps at injection sites, swelling and occasional bruising, which typically resolve within a few days. Rare risks include infection, which can be minimised by following aftercare instructions. Some discomfort may occur during the procedure and any persistent or severe pain should be reported right away.

What kind of results can be expected?

Patients may notice enhancements in skin texture, hydration and elasticity. While some individuals may observe a reduction of fine lines and a more even skin tone, results will vary depending on factors such as age, skin type and adherence to post-treatment care. Realistic expectations will be discussed during your consultation.

Is Rejuran treatment safe?

Rejuran treatment should always be performed by a qualified healthcare professional. However, as with any medical treatment, there are potential risks and side effects. It is not recommended for individuals who are pregnant, breastfeeding, have active skin infections, severe allergies, autoimmune conditions, bleeding disorders or are on medications like blood thinners. An initial consultation is required to assess your eligibility for the treatment and discuss any potential risks.

What are the benefits of Rejuran treatment?

Rejuran treatment can offer several benefits, including improved skin texture and elasticity, enhanced hydration levels, strengthened skin barrier function and a reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It may also support natural skin repair and regeneration processes. However, individual results can vary based on your skin type and other factors.

Does Rejuran hurt?

Individual pain thresholds may vary and your practitioner will ensure you are as comfortable as possible during the treatment. A topical numbing cream will be applied before the procedure to enhance patient comfort.

How long does Rejuran treatment take?

Depending on the treatment area, a Rejuran session typically takes 30 to 60 minutes. This includes time for preparation, application of a numbing cream and the injections themselves. Your practitioner will provide detailed post-treatment care instructions to support your recovery and optimise results.

Do I need a consultation before getting Rejuran treatment?

An in-depth consultation is required before undergoing Rejuran. This includes a detailed facial assessment and a review of your medical history to ensure the treatment is appropriate for you. Our practitioners reserve the right to decline the procedure if it is not in your best interest.
