Thermage FLX

Thermage FLX for Skin Tightening

Skin tightening and contouring with the new Thermage FLX.

No surgery. No needles. No downtime.

Thermage FLX, the new generation. Thermage is, and always has been, the gold standard in non-surgical rejuvenation and it just gets better and better!

I believe the best measure of Thermage FLX, and indeed all Thermage, is the loyalty of our clients. We have clients returning every year or two for their Thermage treatments because they are happy with their outcomes. When existing patients heard about the development of Thermage FLX they were eager for the new technology as there was an inherent trust in the brand Thermage. With the shorter treatment times and improved immediately visible results, these returning patients are thrilled with the new FLX, as are we.

What is Thermage FLX?

Skin Renu opened its doors over ten years ago with Thermage as our premier treatment. Over the years we have been proud of quickly adopting the Thermage updates and improvements on offer. We are now one of the first clinics to introduce the new Thermage FLX.

With a larger treatment tip, offering biofeedback at every pulse, AccuREP™, treatments are quicker, more comfortable and most importantly tailored to deliver exact energy deep where it is needed with every pulse. The multidirectional vibration hand piece and the improved cryogen cooling system both ensuring even greater comfort.

How does Thermage FLX work?

It works by tightening your existing collagen and stimulating the production of new collagen. By delivering energy to the layer of skin where collagen is formed (the dermis), the Thermage FLX harnesses the body’s own renewal processes to build new collagen while tightening existing collagen. To ensure patient comfort while energy is delivered to the dermis, cooling cryogen is simultaneously delivered to cool the uppermost layer of the skin while the handpiece vibrates multidirectionally.

What does a Thermage FLX treatment feel like?

When the pulse is activated, you feel the energy applied as a deep, but brief, warming sensation, an indication that collagen is reaching an effective temperature for tightening and remodelling. The improved cooling system ensures that the surface of the skin remains cool as it is activated before and during each application of energy. During the treatment your feedback is used to ensure your comfort.

What results can I expect?

With the AccuREP™ technology you will see an immediate visual improvement as the existing collagen is tightened. New collagen, however, does take time to grow. Continuing improvements are visible from around three months and continue to improve for up to six months. Your skin will appear smoother and fresher as the new collagen grows. Fine lines will appear softer.

What is the best age is best suited for a Thermage FLX treatment?

We recommend Thermage FLX from mid to late 30’s as a prevention treatment and from 45 onwards for those serious about preserving and building on their skin’s appearance. Thermage has always been the Gold Standard for those seeking to improve their skin’s laxity. It contours and tightens by harnessing your body’s own responses to stimulate the formation of collagen, the skin’s support structure.

How many treatments will I need and what is the downtime?

Only one treatment is needed with Thermage and there is no downtime. Many clients enjoy the benefits of Thermage yearly or bi-annually to maintain their skin health. We recommend regular yearly Thermage FLX treatments.

What should I do to ensure the best possible outcome? Do I need special products before or after?

Thermage FLX is non-invasive and there is very little to do to prepare for a treatment. The best preparation is to come well hydrated on the day of your treatment. RF, the energy modality of Thermage FLX, works better on well hydrated patients. Ensure you have had your minimum eight glass of water for a couple of days prior at least. Also come with realistic expectations. Thermage FLX is a treatment to tighten your existing collagen and to stimulate new collagen. The results are subtle, Thermage FLX is not a facelift.

After treatment you can return to your usual activities, apply makeup. We always recommend the use of a sunscreen post treatment and one will be applied for you.

Are there any risks with Thermage FLX?

Thermage FLX is non-invasive and does not act on the outer layers of the skin. At the end of the treatment your face may appear flushed but this will settle within hours. A mild swelling can be detected but this resolves within 48 hours.

How long does a Thermage FLX treatment take?

Treatments take approximately 90 minutes.

Do I need a consultation prior to booking my Thermage FLX?

We always recommend a consultation to see if a Thermage FLX is a suitable treatment for you. The process is explained in detail and your expectations are gauged.

While Thermage FLX and past Thermages have demonstrated their ability to give excellent results over the years, no guarantees are made nor implied.
